How to Analyse Mocks?

Although there is no hard-and-fast way to analyse mock tests, it is considered an integral part of preparation. We believe the following steps shall help you in mock analysis while driving maximum benefit:

Attempt Mock according to actual exam timings and with utmost dedication
  1. Check your score. Analyse your sectional performances to know your strengths and weaknesses.
  2. Take out 3 days to have an in-depth review.

On day 1, sit with the VARC section with solutions and get a thorough understanding of the elimination pattern used and look at the questions from a different perspective. Also re-solve 2 sets of DI on this day, whilst clearing your concepts.

On day 2, solve about 60% of the QA section, without any time pressure and without looking at solutions. Identify the questions you missed out on and segregate your silly mistakes. Simultaneously make a cheat-sheet of important results and techniques used. Solve another 2 sets of LRDI today.

On day 3, attempt the rest of the QA and LRDI questions in the same manner.

This shall give you a clarity of your grip on concepts and which part of the sections you need to focus more on.

  3. Keeping all the techniques and your strengths and weaknesses in mind, prepare a strategy that suits you.
  4. Attempt another Mock. You’ll be able to spot a visible difference in the two mocks attempted. Once more try to identify new useful techniques and patterns and keep improving your strategy.
